In an extremely tragic event, a famous Instagram influencer and an Ecuadorian model, Landy Parraga Goyburo, met her tragic death.
Reports are doing rounds all across the media and even a few videos showing the incident when two gunmen shot her and a man with her inside a restaurant. It is believed that Goyburo is the victim of a targeted attack, which ultimately resulted in loss of her life.As evident in the video clips available online, it all happened so suddenly that nobody could react or save the model and the man with her.
The grim incident took place after Goyburo shared an Instagram post in which she gave away her location to the attackers. Just a simple picture of her posing outside an artificial cave gave away the location as ‘Bora Bora, Islas Del Rosario’. While the post garnered over 7500 likes, it also resulted in her tragic death.
Several security footages online have recorded and shown the scene of the killing as two armed men all of a sudden stormed into the restaurant where Goyburo was dining and then there was chaos. Other people inside the restaurant ran or covered themselves from the men and so did the model and the man with her. Unfortunately, though, the armed men had their eyes pointed straight at her, and even though she tried to take cover, the attempts were futile.
According to reports, while one of the armed men shot at her constantly, the other stood guard to help him escape after their act.
Why was she killed?
A solid answer as to what led to the killing of the young influencer has not yet been revealed but several theories and speculations are in place.
The most believable of all the theories is about Goyburo’s alleged associations with criminal gangs, including her previous ties to a prominent gang figure.
Along with that, there are rumours about her corruption scandals that were investigated but she was never charged with any offensces. Some also say that the late model’s romantic involvement with a gang boss could be the reason for her death which added further complexity to the already murky narrative surrounding Goyburo’s demise. It is speculated that the widow of the drug lord, with whom Goyburo was involved, could be behind the killing.
