Gemini AI — Google’s answer to ChatGPT — is now available in more than 100 countries. In a post on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Google said “The Gemini mobile app is going global! People in 100+ countries can now use Gemini on their phones to supercharge their creativity and productivity in more languages.”
Google hasn’t made standalone Gemini AI app for many countries. The Gemini AI app has been included in Assistant in many countries, including India. For iPhone users, the Gemini tab has been made available in the Google app.
“We’ll gradually expand to more languages, countries, and territories that are consistent with local regulations and our AI principles,” the company said.

Large parts of Europe and the UK are conspicuously missing on the list of countries where Gemini AI app can be used in one form or the other. Clearly, Europe’s strict data privacy laws and other regulations have deterred Google from making the app available in the region.
If in India you can’t access, Gemini through Google Assistant, wait for an invitation when you use Google Assistant.
What do you need to run Gemini AI on mobile?
According to Google, on Android (including as your mobile assistant), the Gemini mobile app is available on non-folding Android phones, as well as Samsung and Pixel foldables, with 4 GB of RAM or more, running Android 12 and up. So if you have a phone that doesn’t run Android 12 or later versions, you won’t be able to access Gemini AI on mobile.
Google has also expanded its Extensions feature and enabled people to quickly start to chat with Gemini in the Chrome desktop address bar. These extensions can be used to access Gemini in popular Google apps like Gmail, Docs, and Drive.
