Google I/O 2024 is around the corner and is slated to take place on May 14. Ahead of the event, the tech giant has confirmed the itinerary for this year. Google’s key announcements include updates for AI, Android, Wear OS, Google TV and Android TV. Google confirmed on Friday that it will be conducting more than 150 sessions including a Keynote Address and a Developer Keynote address.

Notably, Google has not yet officially confirmed any details about the Pixel 8a, however, it is expected that the latest iteration in Google’s budget-conscious ‘A’ series will drop during the said event.

  • Android 15: Google confirmed that a session titled ‘What’s new in Android’ will take place in which details about the Android 15 covering generative AI, form factors, compose, performance and more will be revealed.
  • Latest Gen AI Upgrades: Google said that it will showcase the ‘latest AI tools in action’ at the event. The tech giant said that it is harnessing the power of Gen AI to allow developers to build modern and dynamic apps. 
  • Wear OS 5: Google has listed a session titled ‘Building for the future of Wear OS’ and confirmed that the latest Wear OS operating system will be revealed at the event.
  • Android TV OS: An event dedicated to the new enhancements in Android TV and Google TV will take place at this year’s I/O event.
  • Other updates: Other scheduled events by Google confirm that the company is also working on bringing much-needed upgrades to many other technologies including Google Pay, Google Wallet, Google Chrome, Google Maps, Flutter, Angular and more.
