Vivo X100 Ultra Showcased to be Better Than Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for Concert Shots –

3 minutes, 4 seconds Read

The Vivo X100 Ultra is set to launch tomorrow, May 13. Just a day before the official unveiling, we have a set of concert images captured by the smartphone. As the images show, the upcoming phone might just be better than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

To fill you in, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a 200 MP wide primary camera on the back. It’s paired with a 50 MP periscope telephoto, 10 MP telephoto, and a 12 MP ultrawide. This robust camera setup of the phone allowed it to gain an overall camera score of 144 points from DxOMark. The Vivo X100 Pro, launched late last year, beat Samsung’s current high-end offering by achieving an overall score of 150 points.

But it seems Vivo is going to take things to the next level with the X100 Ultra. And when it releases, we may very well see DxOMark speaking highly of the zooming capabilities.

The zooming capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra make it a great pick for concert shots. In many tests, it has held a strong position by delivering crisp zoomed-in shots. However, the new set of camera samples from Vivo X100 Ultra showcases even better results.

To fill you in, the Vivo X100 Ultra comes with a robust triple-camera setup on the back. It has a 50 MP main sensor, 50 MP ultrawide, and a 200 MP periscope sensor. All these cameras are backed by the Vivo V2 image processing chip and ZEISS T* coating.

Here, the 200 MP sensor is the main highlight. It’s the industry’s largest telephoto lens, coming in at 1/1.4-inch. This, combined with other camera aspects, makes the phone stand as a great choice for zoomed-in shots. That’s exactly what the new set of images prove.

The pictures you see attached above and below are from the recent “The Singer” event held in China. They were taken during rehearsals, and the periscope sensor of the Vivo X100 Ultra did a great job of capturing the zoomed-in shots. Of course, the optical magnification is lower than what Samsung offers with its S24 Ultra.

For reference, the optical zoom on the Samsung S24 Ultra is 5x, while Vivo’s upcoming phone can offer 3.7x optical zoom. But that didn’t stop the Vivo X100 Ultra from delivering crisp details. With 10x digital zoom, the zoomed photos taken during the event had a good level of depth. It’s also worth mentioning that the phone handled lights very well, likely due to the ZEISS T* lens coating.

Other Highlighted Specs of the Phone

The Vivo X100 Ultra isn’t all about the camera. It’s a true Android flagship with all the other aspects residing in the high-end territory. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the same SoC as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It also has LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, both of which are top-end standards.

Of course, all these also mean that the X100 Ultra will be a high-end phone in terms of price. While the company hasn’t said anything in this regard yet, it will reportedly cost CNY 6,699 in China (around $944). To compare, the Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,299.99 in the US.
