Not Biden, his top advisers should be fired: What family discussed at Camp David – The Times of India

The Bidens had a tough weekend with the Democrat donors publicly calling for a replacement of a shaky, disoriented Joe Biden following his dismal debate performance on June 27 on the CNN. This family get-together was previously scheduled but the debate debacle would come up as a discussion, it was speculated. It came up and the family members were unanimous that Biden should keep fighting.Instead, they discussed whether any of Biden’s top advisers should be fired and whether campaign staffing changes should be made, CNN reported.
Joe Biden underwent onerous preparation for the debate for a week before the debate and to his close aides, his drifting off in the middle of a sentence is not new either. That they could not foresee the disaster and did not prepare Biden accordingly should hold them responsible but Biden is not a ruthless boss and he does not like to fire aides. The CNN report said as of Sunday, there was not indication of any major changes in staffing.
Florida attorney John Morgan, one of the Democratic Party’s most prolific and prominent donors, named Biden’s advisor Anita Dunn and her husband Bob Bauer, and said they have been fooling Biden for far too long. “Biden has for too long been fooled by the value of Anita Dunn and her husband. They need to go … TODAY,” Morgan wrote on X.
“Those advisers are now under great scrutiny, with party insiders openly questioning how they allowed the president to take the stage last week to face off against Donald Trump knowing what they must have known. The Biden team had spent nearly a full week hunkered down at Camp David, trying to prepare the president for any scenario that he might confront inside the CNN studio in Atlanta,” the CN report said.
It was also discussed at the family meeting how members of the Biden clan could help the president — but the question of Biden opting out was not considered at all.
