HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a recent inspection has changed the weight limit on the U.S. 60 bridge.

According to a release, engineers with KYTC placed a 10-ton weight limit on the U.S. 60 bridge at the Henderson-Union County line Wednesday.

Officials say the restriction will go into effect immediately.

The 81-year-old bridge carries around 6,000 vehicles through the U.S. 60 corridor between the two counties each day.

KYTC officials say the new 10-ton limit will not affect normal passenger vehicles.

Heavier vehicles will need to find a new route.
