Fred Matiang’i for president

A section of leaders in the vent echoed Sakaja’s sentiments and called on Matiang’i, who took a low political profile after the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition faction he supported, courtesy of Uhuru’s political stance, lost the 2022 presidential elections to President William Ruto.

Nyambega Gisesa, Member of County Assembly Rigoma West, said it was time Matiang’i offered himself for the top seat in 2017.

Gisesa challenged Machogu to work with Matiang’i and ensure he gets back to the public service before the right time for vying for the presidency came.

The former CS had trouble with Ruto’s regime after the 2022 election loss. Notably, there was an incident in which police officers went after him at his home.
