The Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday reacted to ‘All Eyes On Rafah‘ and called for protection of human lives in Gaza’s Rafah. Israeli forces had initiated a military operation in Gaza’s Rafah, which comes just days after the International Court of Justice ordered Tel Aviv to halt its operation in the Gaza city. The move by Israel has triggered outrage and widespread condemnation from the international community.

While addressing a press conference, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “The heartbreaking loss in camp in Rafah. We call for protection of human lives. We also know that Israel has acknowledged it and has called for an investigation.”

Responding to India’s position on Palestinian statehood, Randhir Jaiswal said “As you are aware, India was one of the first countries to recognise the state of Palestine in the late 1980s, and we have long supported two state solution which entails the establishment of a sovereign, viable, and independent state of Palestine within recognised and mutually agreed borders, living side by side with Israel in peace.
