OpenAI announced ChatGPT’s most advanced model to date–the GPT 4O with a host of impressive features and upgrades over the existing language models. While the internet was charmed with everything that OpenAI announced at its first ever event, one person, who does not mince his words, was not happy with the AI models. Elon Musk, who is extremely opinionated, took to X to share that the ChatGPT 4o made him cringe.

Musk did not seem happy with the demo video that was shared by OpenAI to demonstrate the features of the new language model.A post by author Ashley St Clair on social media highlighted the potential of AI, suggesting that with OpenAI’s advancements, humans could delegate the task of perceiving reality in real time to AI. However, St Clair also raised concerns about the implications, suggesting that this could lead to a new set of challenges worse than the “post-truth era.” Reply ng to her tweet, Musk replied saying that the demo video made him cringe.

Musk’s disdain for OpenAI isn’t new. He previously filed a lawsuit against the company and its CEO, Sam Altman, alleging breaches of their original agreements regarding AI development. OpenAI responded to Musk’s lawsuit, alleging that Musk wanted either a merger with Tesla or complete control over the organization to further his own goals, which they viewed as contrary to their mission.Musk’s departure from OpenAI stemmed from his belief that the company would fail, according to Altman.

In 2022, when OpenAI launched ChatGPT, people were amazed by its abilities. They started using it to do all sorts of things, like making music and writing poetry. This sparked a competition among tech giants like Google, Microsoft, X, and Meta, who all developed their own AI chatbots. Now, OpenAI is shaking things up once again. During its Spring Update event on May 13 the company, led by Sam Altman, made some big announcements.
