Alternate routes to avoid I-24 Tennessee River Bridge work zone for holiday travel – WPSD Local 6

I-24 Tennessee River Bridge work zone

A work zone along Interstate 24 at mile marker 29 on the Tennessee River Bridge in Kentucky is causing substantial travel delays for the 4th of July Holiday and vacation traffic.

Because of this, many drivers are using U.S. 62 between exit 40 at Eddyville and exit 27 at Calvert City as an alternate route.

However, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 1 says the weekend traffic volume has also caused substantial delays along U.S. 62.

The transportation cabinet will open both lanes along this work zone by Tuesday, July 2, and will offer an additional alternate route to help drivers avoid delays during peak travel periods.

I-24 westbound alternate from Paducah to Nashville
